geometrics: regional growth, convergence and inequality
A companion package for spatial analysis: maps, spatial dependence, β-, σ- and club convergence, spatial regressions, distribution dynamics and inequality, each with a plain-language reading.
geometrics turns the standard analyses of regional growth into single functions built on the PySAL stack. Explore functions map variables, build spatial weights and test spatial dependence (Moran’s I, LISA clusters). Analyze functions estimate β-convergence (OLS and spatial models with LeSage–Pace impacts), σ-convergence, Phillips–Sul convergence clubs, Markov and spatial Markov transitions, Gini and Theil decompositions, and geographically weighted regressions. Learn functions simulate each concept from a known truth. Every result carries an interactive figure, a table and an interpret() method that explains it in words. geo4bolivia prepares Bolivian data for it in one line: geo.for_geometrics().
